Car catches fire on road

EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene after a car burst into flames as it travelled along the city bypass.

The A1 eastbound carriageway was closed after the vehicle caught fire between Newcraighall and Old Craighall at around 3.45pm yesterday. No-one was injured in the blaze.

Police and fire crews attended the incident, and reopened the road shortly afterwards.
