Capital voted tourist hotspot

EDINBURGH is one of the top destinations in the UK for city breaks, a new poll has revealed.

The Capital was voted the best place in the country for restaurants, and the second best for shopping, history, entertainment and romance. It came second only to York in the survey by holiday letting agency, cottages4you.

The company's managing director Geoff Cowley said: "Although London is a great place to visit, our survey found towns and cities outside the capital are increasingly popular."
