Capital clipper hits New York

THE Inspiring Capital clipper has arrived in New York in fifth place at the end of race ten of the Round the World challenge.

It was the team's best result of the 14-race series and also saw them pick up their first Scoring Gate point of the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race.

Honours went to Uniquely Singapore, marking their first victory in the race.

Arriving in Manhattan, Edinburgh Inspiring Capital skipper Matt Pike said: "This race was one that we were really looking forward to. We didn't get the best of starts, but made up for it in what we're strongest at, which is a really good uphill leg in a reasonable breeze."
