Cancer-struck 'to lose cash'

CANCER patients in the Lothians could miss out on up to £100 a week under government cutbacks, it has been warned.

Macmillan Cancer Support said thousands of patients across Scotland rely on the Employment and Support Allowance, but that under the Welfare Reform Bill many people could lose that support.

Director in Scotland Elspeth Atkinson said: "Many cancer patients will lose this crucial benefit simply because they have not recovered quickly enough."
