Campaigner in garden honour

A FORMER Morningside campaigner is set to be commemorated with a new sensory garden.

Former Morningside Community Council chair Susan Wong died at the age of 54 in 2008 after a lifelong battle against the digestive illness ulcerative colitis.

Now the community council wants to create a 4,000 sensory garden in Morningside Park.

It has applied for 2,000 of funding from the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership. The remainder of the funds will be met by Scottish Natural Heritage and the community council's Susan Wong appeal. The application is set to be approved on Monday.
