Calls on cost of police reform

The Scottish Government is facing calls to publish details of the cost of setting up a single police force to cover the country.

Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott, who opposes the proposal, is concerned cost figures will not be available before Holyrood breaks for the election.

The idea of a single force is outlined in a consultation on the future of the police service, but the SNP government has not yet confirmed its preferred option.
