Call to review web hate law

THE law surrounding internet hate sites should be strengthened, political leaders have said.

Solicitor General Frank Mulholland has said hate campaigns relating to Rangers and Celtic run online will soon be punishable by up to five years in prison.

Labour community safety spokesman James Kelly said: "There are still instances of online campaigns which are sectarian in nature and are unacceptable. The job for a future parliament is to look at the laws and examine if they're tough enough."
