Call to reopen case for death

AN E-PETITION set up by a grieving mother urging the Lord Advocate to reopen the case of her daughter's death four years ago has amassed 2,851 signatures.

Guje Borjesson from Sweden has been investigating the death of her daughter Annie, who lived and worked in Edinburgh, since she was found washed up on Prestwick beach in 2005. Police concluded she had either taken her own life or drowned by accident.

The e-petition appeals for "suspicious deaths" to be investigated by a new specialist unit.
