Call to ensure no health cuts

THE Scottish Government has been asked to step in to ensure no health cuts are made in the Lothians.

The Royal College of Nursing, based in Edinburgh, said there was a trend across the country for health boards to reduce frontline staff as they attempt to balance the books.

Geoff Earl, RCN Scotland board member, said: "The Scottish Government needs to ensure that health boards deliver on its own commitment not to cut frontline services."
