Call for witnesses after two-car crash

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-car collision to the south of Kirknewton at around 8:15am yesterday.

The incident occurred on the A70 near Harperrig Reservoir and involved a Seat Ibiza, which was travelling west and a Skoda Octavia, which was heading east.

The 22-year-old male driver of the Seat was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Paramedics also transferred the 20-year-old male driver of the Skoda and his male passenger to hospital for minor injuries.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen the cars prior to the collision.

Those with information that can assist police with their enquiries are asked to call 101.
