Call for sensational seniors

An event to help older people become more active and help their community is to be held in Cramond tomorrow.

Cramond Community Day aims to show older people the range of services available to them in the area.

The day will focus on helping them develop and maintain social networks, find new interests and skills, and highlight what support is available with household tasks, shopping, home maintenance and accessing financial advice.

Councillor Norman Work, convenor of organisers Almond Neighbourhood Partnership, said: "Often older people can feel isolated, especially if they have just retired and don't realise there are many different ways they can support their local community."

The event takes place in and around Cramond Kirk on Glebe Road from 10.30am-3pm.
