Call for more STD testing

THE number of young adults being tested for a common sexually transmitted disease needs to be increased, it has been warned.

A report earlier this week revealed under-25s have a poor uptake for chlamydia testing, despite being one of the most likely age groups to catch it.

The Liberal Democrat's public health spokesman Jamie Stone said: "It is clear that the message on urging young people to get tested for chlamydia isn't getting through."
