Cadets pipers out in force

EDINBURGH Academy's Combined Cadet Force Pipe Band leave the academy's junior school on a march to mark their centenary and the 150th anniversary of the cadet movement's inception.

Ninety pupils, led by the pipe band, paraded through the streets to celebrate the two significant dates.

Following the parade, the Cadet Force received its biennial inspection by Air Commodore Barbara Cooper, who watched the cadets demonstrating their skills such as aircraft recognition, field craft, signals and leadership.
