Cabbie drove into customer

A TAXI driver crashed into a customer after he dodged his fare leaving him with serious head injuries.

Brian Foster, 28, was left with the injuries after Douglas Fraser, 40, drove into him.

Fiscal depute Graeme Jessop told Edinburgh Sheriff Court the injury had an "enormous effect" on Mr Foster's lifestyle. CCTV footage which identified City Cabs driver Fraser indicated Mr Foster may have been hit at up to 35mph.

Fraser, of Roull Road, Corstorphine, admitted driving dangerously and hitting Mr Foster to his severe injury and permanent impairment.

Sheriff Kenneth Maciver deferred sentence until next month.
