Bypass water pipe finished

A GIANT pipeline has been successfully installed under the city bypass as part of a £130 million project to improve Edinburgh's water supplies.

Scottish Water said the Glencorse pipeline, which winds it ways through the Midlothian countryside, had been taken under the bypass, causing only limited disruption to drivers.

Project manager Lynsey Tweedlie said: "Drivers would have been unaware what was going on as they passed by, other than perhaps noticing the huge pipelines on either side of the road."
