Buzz about electric cars

Electric vehicle manufacturer Allied Vehicles joined environmental group WWF Scotland in calling upon Scotland's political parties to set out, ahead of May's Holyrood elections, how they would each help deliver take up of electric vehicles north of the Border.

Allied Electric's managing director, Paul Nelson, said: "The use of electric vehicles is paramount to the reduction of carbon emissions.

"Scotland's renewable potential must be matched by a strong commitment to electric vehicles. We have the opportunity to be powering our cars with green electricity by 2020 that we cannot afford to miss."
