Businessman in event blow

A BUSINESSMAN was left disappointed after accepting an invitation to a council event within minutes of receiving it - only to be told it was fully booked.

Bill Alexander, who owns Colinton Arts, received an e-mail from the council inviting him to a procurement event on "business tips for suppliers to the public sector" last week, and accepted within 20 minutes.

A spokesman for the city council said the event was also held in February, with priority given to those businesses that couldn't attend the first one due to it being fully booked.
