Business students donate project profits to hospice

Business students at Telford College have donated £680 - the profits of an entrepreneurial project - to St Columba's Hospice.

The budding entrepreneurs were tasked with setting up a company to sell their chosen product, some headphones, which had to be pitched to a 'Dragon's Den' style panel for approval. The headphones were sold at the College before Christmas, with the profits handed over to the hospice this week.

The College's Events Manager Mandy Purdie said she considered the students to be "a credit to Telford", while Business Lecturer, Gerry Reilly said both the college and the hospice were keen to continue the relationship in the future.

"The feedback we got from the hospice was extremely positive," he said. "I know the hospice are keen to foster a relationship with the College, given that many of their links are to a more ageing population. It's such a fantastic charity that I hope it's possible."
