Buses to get Maisie makeovers

A FLEET of buses routed through Morningside have been given an eye-catching makeover in honour of the suburb's most famous fictional resident.

Illustrations of Maisie the Morningside Cat will be decorating the sides of Lothian Buses' number 5 service from today.

Created by Maisie author Aileen Paterson, the feline-themed designs form the new-look livery for ten "beige-topped" buses.

Ms Paterson said: "Maisie is synonymous with Morningside and has travelled on Lothian Buses in many of my books, so to have her on the service 5 which passes through Morningside is wonderful."
