Bus grant is just the ticket

Transport Minister Keith Brown has announced a £243,000 grant to Edinburgh City Council to clean up bus emissions.

The cash will pay for older buses to be fitted with equipment known as particulate matter traps to reduce emissions by up to 85 per cent.

Mr Brown, who announced a similar grant for Glasgow, said the move would mean better air quality in the Capital.

He said: "The Scottish Government is committed to creating a healthier environment for people and these awards will greatly improve air quality in our urban areas."
