Bus driver on mobile charge

A BUS driver has been charged with using a mobile phone behind the wheel with passengers on board his vehicle.

The 44-year-old, from Dunbar, was travelling along Court Street in Haddington at around midnight on Saturday when he was pulled over by police.

The man was charged and is set to be reported for summons.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old from the Tranent area was hit with a fixed penalty notice after officers caught him drinking alcohol in a public place in Court Street.
