Bus accident man 'critical'

A MAN was in a critical condition in hospital yesterday after being involved in an accident with a bus, police said.

The 38-year-old pedestrian suffered multiple injuries when he was struck by the single-decker vehicle in Charlwood Road, Horley, Surrey, just before 11:30pm on Sunday night.

A Surrey Police spokesman said the man was taken to East Surrey Hospital but was transferred to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London, yesterday morning, where his condition was said to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for four hours while emergency services carried out investigations.
