Building rules make history

NEW rules have been published on how to look after and make changes to Edinburgh's historic buildings.

The Historic Scotland guidance provides information on listed buildings and conservation areas, including extensions, demolitions and how to fit items such as solar panels.

Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop said: "I welcome the launch of these new guidance notes. They should make it easier for a wide range of people to access the information they need about the historic environment."
