The occasion was to announce the UK winners of the prestigious poster competition.
The annual poster contest was open to young people and their schools from all over the European Union. This year's chosen theme was the 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Hide AdOver 9,500 posters were registered from across the EU. There were two age categories 10-14 and 15-18 years old, and the Wester Hailes Education Centre came 2nd in the 15-18 years old category of the competition's UK section.
The team entitled WHEC2 were made up of Jordan Hickey, 16, Nicole Ewins, 16, Danielle Johnstone, 18, and Kirsty Merrylees, 16.
Stuart Sinclair, Principal teacher of Social Subjects at Wester Hailes Education Centre, said: "We are proud of how the young people's hard work has been rewarded and recognised by the European Commission."
