Bronze of guardian gorilla up for sale

A LIFE-SIZE bronze cast of a gorilla is expected to sell for thousands of pounds when it goes under the hammer.

Jambo hit the headlines for guarding a five-year-old boy who fell into his enclosure at Jersey Zoo on 31 July, 1986.

The gorilla, who died in 1992, was credited with changing public perception of silverbacks and was immortalised in bronze by sculptor David Cemmick.
