Breakthrough in hunt for park vandals

POLICE have issued descriptions of two people suspected of carrying out vandalism at the Four Winds Inspiration Centre in Inverleith Park.

As the Evening News reported on Thursday, 13 windows were smashed in the attack, leaving shards of glass all over the centre and causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

Police are currently examining CCTV footage of the incident, which took place between 8pm and 9pm on Monday, 26 April.

They are looking for one male and one female youth. The male has blond hair, is of medium build, and was wearing a royal blue sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The female youth has dark hair, is also of medium build, and was wearing a pink hoodie.

Owners said the attack had come as a serious blow for the recession-hit centre.

They announced earlier this year that they could no longer afford to run the popular Tree Fest in the park, but have pledged to continue their programme of craft classes.
