Brazilian TV ghost prank video is internet sensation

FOOTAGE from a television show in Brazil which shows lift passengers being scared by a ghostly prank has been watched over a million times online.

Brazilian variety show Programa Silvio Santo organised the practical joke, which made up a segment of the hit programme.

Members of the public enter the lift, before the lights are turned off and the lift abruptly comes to a halt. A deathly looking young girl clutching a doll then enters through a hidden door. Her ghostly persona was reportedly inspired by the character from the classic horror movie The Ring.

As the lights are brought back up, victims of the prank are left screaming in horror and rushing for the exit.

The video, titled Ghost in the Elevator, has become a viral internet sensation since being posted on YouTube earlier this week.
