Bragg's delight at backing

MUSICIAN Billy Bragg has welcomed news that the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is keen to roll out a project he launched at Saughton Prison across the country.

The Evening News revealed this week that the Edinburgh prison was the first in Scotland to take advantage of Bragg's Jail Guitar Doors initiative.

It saw six guitars donated to the prison, with staff then using them to give music lessons to prisoners as part of their rehabilitation programme. The SPS has said it now wants five other prisons to take part in the scheme.

Bragg said: "It's really great that they are so positive about this."
