Boyfriend of killer model Caroline Igoe jailed for heroin operation

A FORMER boyfriend of a killer model was jailed for six years and nine months yesterday for running a major drugs operation.

Gary Walker, 27, had been questioned by police after Martyn Barclay, 26, was shot dead in the street outside his home in the Inch area of Edinburgh in January last year.

It was later established the murder had been committed by Caroline Igoe, 32, a part-time model, who is due to be sentenced next week.

Walker, of Balmwell Grove, Edinburgh, and Igoe had been partners and had a child before she began a relationship with Mr Barclay.

Yesterday the High Court in Edinburgh heard that Walker had been linked by police to 3kg of heroin with a potential street value of 300,000.

The judge, William Dunlop, said the operation had been "extensive in every way".

Walker's brother, Stephen, 37, was jailed for four years and three months. William Pierrepont, 41, was acquitted by a jury's not proven verdict.
