Boyack tops top-up list poll

EDINBURGH Central MSP Sarah Boyack has been voted into the number one slot on Labour's top-up list for Lothians at next year's Scottish Parliament elections.

Party bosses waived the normal ban on candidates standing both in a constituency and on the list after boundary changes left her seat vulnerable to the Liberal Democrats.

In the ballot of Labour members in the Lothians, second place went to Kezia Dugdale, a parliamentary aide. West Lothian councillor Neil Findlay was third, STUC assistant secretary Ann Henderson fourth and Edinburgh East activist Jala Chaudry fifth.
