Boy was stuck in a manhole

A FIRECREW prised a 12-year-old boy from a manhole on a building site after he became stuck while chasing a football.

The boy was jammed 3ft down the hole at Curling Pond Lane, West Lothian, after becoming snared in pipes.

Only his head and shoulders were visible when firecrews arrived.

They tried to free him using lubricant before digging around the manhole and cutting sections of pipes to get him out.

The boy was uninjured.
