Boy knocked down by car

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital last night after suffering minor head injuries when he was knocked down by a car on Prestonfield Avenue.

Paramedics were called to the scene after the incident just after 5.30pm and took him to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Graham Burns, 48, was delivering a Chinese takeaway when he arrived at the scene. He said: "I just missed it but I saw the boy lying on the road and the driver of the car was over him.

"He wasn't moving, I think he was unconscious.

"There was a single-decker bus stopped just at the side. I think they must have seen what happened."
