Booze link to breast cancer

MORE than half of Lothians women don't know that heavy drinking can lead to an increased risk of breast cancer.

A survey by Breakthrough Breast Cancer found alarming levels of ignorance surrounding the disease, including nearly 50 per cent not checking their breasts regularly.

Director Audrey Birt said: "These results show that more work is needed to make sure women are breast-aware."
