Boost for rail police on track

RAILWAY police are set to bolster their numbers on trains travelling between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

British Transport Police unveiled the dedicated neigbourhood policing team to help reduce crime and reassure passengers and rail staff using train services between Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street.

Sergeant Dougie Brownlee, of British Transport Police, said: "This new team will supplement other BTP officers who patrol the trains and stations between Edinburgh and Glasgow. However, these four officers will concentrate on this particular line speaking to staff and the public and listening to their concerns so we can focus our patrols."
