Book festivals to collaborate

THE directors of five leading international book festivals have come together in Edinburgh to discuss future collaboration under the banner of The Word Alliance.

Led by Nick Barley of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the directors discussed creating a platform for artistic collaboration, further expansion of online content and an international touring programme for authors.

In addition to the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Word Alliance network includes The Bookworm International Literary Festival, Beijing, The International Literature Festival in Berlin, Melbourne Writers Festival, and the International Festival of Authors in Toronto.
