Book brings the hills alive

A NEW book featuring rare archive images of the Pentland Hills will be launched at Penicuik Library next week.

The Pentland Hills includes more than 50 old photographs which depict scenes of life on and around the hills, including farms, villages and reservoirs in the area.

Many of the photos date back to the early 1900s.

Free tickets for the launch, which takes place next Thursday at 7pm, are available from Penicuik Library.
