Bombings inquiry spotlight on MI5

A SENIOR MI5 officer is expected to give evidence to the 7 July inquest today about whether Britain's security agencies could have prevented the London attacks.

The agent will defend the failure to launch a full investigation into ringleader Mohammed Sidique Khan and his No 2, Shehzad Tanweer, after they were seen meeting known terror suspects 17 months before the 2005 bombings.
