Bomb threat man jailed

A MAN who terrified staff in an A&E department by threatening to petrol bomb a building has been jailed for two months.

Stephan Bartlett, 25, also told staff at St John's Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian, that he was in possession of a knife.

Bartlett, of Mid Calder, pleaded guilty to committing a breach of the peace by shouting, swearing and conducting himself in a disorderly manner at the hospital on October 3 last year.

Passing sentence yesterday, Sheriff Donald Muirhead said he wanted to send out a message that people who caused disruption in hospitals would be severely punished.
