Body recovered in missing journalist search

The body of a man has been recovered in the search for a journalist missing for more than two months.

Clive Dennier, from Inverness, was reported missing after he failed to turn up to work on Monday March 25.

The 50-year-old Strathspey and Badenoch Herald journalist was believed to have spoken about going hillwalking over the weekend.

His silver VW Polo was discovered by police later that month in the Knoydart area of the Highlands, west of Invergarry. The development prompted further organised searches of the area, but there was no sign of the missing man at that time.

Police Scotland today confirmed that the body of a man was found yesterday in the Kinloch Hourn area of the west Highlands.

Mr Dennier’s relatives have been informed of the development.

In a statement, a police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following information received from a member of the public, the body of a male was recovered from the area of Kinloch Hourn during the evening of Friday 31st May.

“The family of missing person Clive Dennier have been informed of this development. Arrangements are being made for a formal identification.”
