Body of woman found after fire

A WOMAN’S body has been recovered from a house in the Highlands after a fire.

Police had not formally identified her last night.

The body was removed from a building in Kintail Crescent in the Hilton area of Inverness early on Saturday.

A joint police and fire investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze.

A total of 15 people were evacuated after the fire broke out. Two others thought to be missing were traced safe and well at other addresses.

All those evacuated were later allowed to return home or had been re-housed in temporary accommodation yesterday.

Northern Constabulary thanked the British Red Cross and the public for their help.
