Body in car likely toxic fume suicide

THE body of a man who died in a suspected "chemical suicide" has been found in a car near Pencaitland in East Lothian.

It has been reported that a passing dog walker raised the alarm and that notes had been placed on the vehicle warning of toxic fumes within the car.

Fire crews wore gas-tight protective suits to ventilate the car before removing the dead man, who is believed to be from Edinburgh.

The car was found at around 11am on Tuesday in a road leading to Cuddie Wood.

The road was closed for nearly two hours and the man's cause of death is still being investigated.

It is not yet known what chemical was used.

"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
