Body found in city park

POLICE searching for a missing student have discovered a body in a park.

Strathclyde Police said the body of a 20-year-old man was found in Pollok Park, on Glasgow’s South Side on Friday.

The discovery was made at around 12.30pm by officers looking for Jordan McGinty, who has not been seen since 27 September.

McGinty, 20, left his home in the Govan area of the city that day to go to college, but his family later raised the alarm when he did not return for dinner.

Officers yesterday said there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Earlier this month, McGinty’s parents made a public appeal for information to help trace him. They described him as a “homebody”.
