Blue Blazer toasts Pub of Year win

THE Blue Blazer has won the prestigious Edinburgh Pub of the Year award.

It is the first time the Tollcross pub has scooped the prize, voted for by members of Camra, the Campaign for Real Ale.

The award - which helps to raise pubs’ profiles - is presented to the bar from Camra’s Good Beer Guide. The guide lists bars that sell quality beers in a welcoming environment.

Camra representatives handed over the award to delighted staff at the Spittal Street pub last night.

Staff member Emily Smith, 29, said: "It’s a fantastic recognition that we serve quality beer in a quality pub."

Camra visits pubs over several months before picking its favourite.
