Blondes have more fun - and money

THEY may have a reputation for being airheads, but blonde women earn the most money, a study revealed yesterday.

Fair-haired girls take home an average of 1,018.19 after tax and national insurance each month, compared with 937.19 for brunettes and 887.97 for redheads.

But although they have a steady wage, blondes are more frivolous with their cash, with 35 per cent going into their overdraft every single month.

The average blonde woman over-spends by 278.34 a month - giving in to purchases such as chocolate, shoes and handbags.

The poll, conducted by the financial website www.fool.co.uk, suggests girls with blonde hair are good with their money, as more than half know where their money goes to the last penny.

Two thirds of blondes fully understand the outgoings they manage every month, and 93 per cent know what they spend on the mortgage or rent, bills and direct debits.
