Blaze strikes derelict site

A FIRE broke out in a derelict factory in Dalkeith yesterday afternoon.

Part of the roof at the old Laidlaw & Fairgreave building, on Thornybank Industrial Estate, caught fire at around 1.30pm.

Ten firefighters put out the small blaze using a hose reel and some tools.

Two appliances from Dalkeith and Musselburgh attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
