Blaze at old stable block

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze at a derelict building.

Crews used a high pressure hose reel and a short extension ladder to extinguish the blaze at the disused building, thought to be an old stable block, on Old Dalkeith Road just after 4:30pm yesterday.

Police were also called to set up traffic diversions around the fire vehicles, which were parked close to traffic lights.
