Birds charity takes flight to new offices

THE national charity that helps improve the environment for birds is to open a new office in the Capital.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is to become the latest tenant at Edinburgh Park, as the charity relocates to the 2 Lochside View office block from Dunedin House at Ravelston Terrace.

It has signed a lease with landlord Miller Lochside View Limited until January 2020 and will take the whole ground floor - an 11,860sq ft space.

Ben Reed, director at Jones Lang LaSalle, the property firm that acted for RSPB, said: "Having considered city centre and west Edinburgh options, 2 Lochside View offered the right blend of price, quality of space and accessibility for staff."

Duncan Orr-Ewing, head of land management at RSPB, said: "We are pleased to be moving to Edinburgh Park. Good quality office space and access to local amenities, especially public transport were key considerations in influencing our choice of location.

"As a conservation charity, we also have targets for reducing our carbon dioxide emissions, and a more energy efficient office will help us as part of these efforts".
