BioQuarter science centre suite building completed

WORK on new laboratories has been completed at a life sciences research centre in the Capital.

The building – an incubator facility called Nine – was opened at Edinburgh’s BioQuarter complex yesterday by Scottish Enterprise. BioQuarter offers facilities to companies in Scotland’s bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Work on the new building was supported by a £12 million investment from the UK Strategic Investment Fund and a further £12m from Scottish Enterprise.

Construction firm Robertson was responsible for the fit-out, which included power data systems, hot water supplies and lab gas installations.

Bob Gray, of Robertson, said: “We have produced a state-of-the-art laboratory suite suitable for the needs of technicians and scientists to work at the heart of Scotland’s world-leading life sciences industry.”
