Bin men hold dispute talks

BIN men were today set to hold a meeting to discuss their continuing dispute with the city council.

Their work-to-rule has now continued for more than 18 months without a resolution.

Today's meeting of members of the Unite trade union was arranged to discuss "future state" proposals that will affect staff employed within the refuse collection service.

Council bosses said in September that, if no agreement can be reached with unions, they would look to launch a formal process that could see their proposals forced through.
