Biker’s leg broken in 
car collision

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after colliding with a car.

The incident happened on High Street, in Penicuik, just after 7pm on Tuesday.

The biker collided with a Peugeot 206 and broke his leg but it is unknown how the incident occurred.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “We were called to a road collision at 7.15pm on Tuesday.

“The car involved was a Peugeot 206 and the motorcyclist had a KTM 625.

“The rider of the motorbike suffered a broken leg and was taken to hospital . The driver of the car was uninjured.

“Inquiries are still ongoing.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to an incident at 7.15pm to a motorcyclist who collided with a car.

“One person was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.”

The biker was riding a KTM 625 – a lightweight supermoto bike designed for racing on and off-road. Costing just under £6000, the motorcycle only has a top speed of 112mph but is known for its extremely quick acceleration.
